Our Vision
Abstract
The main vendors in the industry have their own tools and development environments which are mainly incompatible with each other. Their aim, possibly, is to trap you into using just their tools. Unfortunately, in reality, all this does is to lock you into using one toolset or another, or forces you to use multiple tools but all in isolation. The reality is that most major companies use a variety of tools and environments.
Currently the issues of consistency across development platforms in terms of how people complete their allocated tasks can vary greatly according to the technical environment used. This leads to lack of flexibility in terms of resource usage. Our vision will provide the users of our approach a consistent set of tasks within software development that are truly independent.
This will help our customers break out of the ‘Vendor Specific Jail’ by providing a process environment, known as the Next Generation Process (NGP), which is truly independent, but works in all environments. With NGP, project teams can start quickly without any vendor specific tools in a project. As the project evolves in complexity, NGP can be extended with practices and tools thanks to an open API and a supporting ecosystem from which you can readily find what you need. The bottom line is that project teams can let the supporting process become an ever present but invisible (and non-intrusive) part of their work and focus on succeeding in the project. The Next Generation Process provides a level of consistency across all development platforms that have previously been seen as something impossible.
