IJI has been working with HSBC since 2009 to introduce a standard approach to use case driven requirements management. The work began with a thorough assessment of existing practices, which resulted in a number of recommendations including the need to define a standard approach for using use cases. The work has continued through 2011, with best practices for requirements management being rolled out in London, UK, and India.

With the acquisition of Merrill-Lynch in 2009, Bank of America acquired an IT organization using a completely different software development lifecycle (SDLC) model. In addition, Bank of America's own SDLC had become heavy with bureaucratic processes that inhibited development teams from being successful. With the goal of defining a right-sized, effective and consistent SDLC, IJI consultants used the software development kernel to describe both SDLCs in such a way that the similarities and differences were immediately apparent. The result was a streamlined, flexible and powerful approach to delivering valuable technology solutions for the bank.
