Dev Manager

We are looking for a Top Dev Manager for our Beijing development team working on the next generation of our EssWork and WayPointer products.

You will be leading a team of 5-10 developers working one of several new projects related to EssWork/WayPointer. Your team will be responsible for the entire design, development, and quality of the products.

We use Java, .NET, and Web 2.0 technologies we work in an agile fashion and stay abreast of all technology trends.
 
We are looking for a highly motivated senior lead and Java or C# developer with a creative, inquisitive and explorative mind, and who is passionate about shipping quality software that will impact the development community throughout the world. You will be expected to spend a significant fraction of your time coding.

Required skills

  • Academic degree in computer science or related field
  • High intellectual horsepower, i.e., strong analytical skills and intelligence and the ability to apply it constructively in work situations
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese, orally as well as written
  • Excellent coding abilities  in C# and/or Java
  • Mindset on quality, pays attention to detail
  • Predictable behavior, follows agreed requirements, designs etc.
  • Outspoken, i.e., speaks their mind freely but listens to other to find common agreement
  • Driven by sense of accomplishment, wants to create excellent products used by many across the globe
  • Self motivating and can motivate under people
  • Technically brilliant but humble, can grow other persons
  • Network with Beijing developers

Required experience

  • At least three years of experience in commercial software development
  • Experience of server side development (Java) or client side development with Eclipse and/or C#/Windows Forms
  • Experience of driving software development teams
  • Experience of shipping quality products
  • Experience in recruitment

Additional technical skills in a subset of the following areas

  • Database development
  • JavaScript/AJAX
  • Addin development for Eclipse, Visual Studio, or Microsoft Office
  • RUP / Scrum / XP
  • MSI-based installers
  • Experience of working with the Eclipse stack of products EMF, GEF, UML2, GMF
  • Client development experience
  • Have worked with XML and XML access models including DOM
  • Visual Studio Team System
  • Modeling
  • CM systems
  • Build technologies such as Make and Ant.
  • Experience working with Scrum /RUP
