Microsoft Visual Studio Team System (VSTS)

IJC is a member of the Microsoft Visual Studio Industry Partner program to deliver the Essential Unified Process (EssUp) to the Visual Studio Team System (VSTS) developer community. EssUp provides a light-weight set of software development practices that can be adopted in an agile manner to produce quality software. It is an evolution of the Unified Process originally developed ten years ago, which forms the foundation of Rational Unified Process (RUP).

EssUp differs in that it is a departure from heavy process techniques and offers substantial improvements based on over ten years of customer experience. For users of RUP or Unified Process, EssUp offers advanced updated techniques to provide a streamlined and lightweight alternative for modern organizations seeking to adopt software engineering best practises with less overhead, complexity and disruption.

IJI – IBM Project Beacon

Ivar Jacobson International is a partner with IBM to advance a collaborative, industry-wide effort to synthesize, share and automate development processes and best practices among independent software vendors, IT organizations building integrated software systems, academia, the research community and individual software professionals. This is primarily through providing selected intellectual capital around Unified Process to the Eclipse development community as open source. As a company committed to the improvement of the software development industry through the capturing, publication and promotion of open source best practice and process definition, Ivar Jacobson International is very excited to be involved in the foundation of the Eclipse Process Framework.

This will allow us to continue to build on the foundation of best practices created by Dr. Ivar Jacobson by presenting them in a new and innovative format accessible to the ever growing Eclipse development community. It will also enable us to take the Unified Process to a broader audience by establishing it as a truly open-source product and separating the underlying process from the large set of optional best practice definitions that have grown up around it.

Ivar Jacobson International is a member of the IBM PartnerWorld Program. As one of the original authors of today’s IBM Rational Unified Process (RUP), Dr. Jacobson established Ivar Jacobson International to work with clients to ensure their success in adopting Rational Unified Process. Our consultants are experts in the IBM Rational Unified Process and associated IBM Rational products. Our focus is on developing holistic organizational competencies around RUP. This includes usage of tools, but starts with software development process. We commit to working with our clients to position them for self-sufficiency in RUP competencies.

The IIBA assists in the educational needs of its members by identifying education providers who offer courses on business analysis that are aligned with the IIBA Business Analysis Body of Knowledge^® (BABOK^®). Providers offering business analysis courses that meet specific criteria are designated as "endorsed" and become members of the Endorsed Education Provider (EEP^TM) Program.
