Course Description
This 1-day class is intended to provide software development project team members with an overview of the Unified Process and the skills they need to start to evaluate and engage with the Unified Process and its derivatives.
It focuses on introducing the best practices and principles that underlie the Unified Process and provides practical advice on how organizations and projects can start to use, and benefit from these. In particular it provides an effective introduction to the Unified Process’s approach to iterative and incremental development.
The course is independent of the particular variant of the Unified Process being followed but is particularly relevant to those teams that are adopting the IBM® Rational Unified Process® (RUP®).
For on-site delivery, the course and its examples can be adapted to reflect the organization’s chosen tailoring of the Unified Process. For example the web-based navigation exercises can be tailored to use the organization’s own process web-site in preference to the IBM® Rational Unified Process® (RUP®) classic configuration.
Throughout the class, common software development project problems and their solutions will be explored.
