Agile Team Simulation

Get up to speed on the essentials of agile development, try it hands-on, and have some fun at the same time. Under expert instruction, attendees run a simulated agile project using role-play to represent agile team members. The team plans, estimates and runs an agile iteration in a highly compressed timescale.

Course overview

An agile software development approach accelerates progress and delivers value faster by working in smaller increments, reducing planning overhead, removing bottlenecks, improving collaboration between team members, and including the business as part of the team. Rather than focusing on rigid contracts and relying on comprehensive documentation, the agile project relies on transparent communication and personal accountability to drive results.

The shift to an agile approach from the traditional approach is profound. We have found that no amount of explaining can adequately convey the differences between the approaches; one has to experience the agile approach in order to appreciate the benefits and the challenges of this new way of working.

This simulation is intended to equip everyone from executives and decision-makers to project practitioners with the knowledge they need to understand the benefits of an agile approach to software development, how an agile project functions, and how to decide whether they are ready to undertake an agile approach.
